All About Work Logs: How to Track Your Work Hours

How to manage and register your and your teammates' working hours

The Work Logs tool is an essential feature for tracking and managing work hours effectively, serving as a centralized hub for time management. This guide explains how to access submitted work logs, add manual entries, and leverage the tool’s features for efficient and accurate tracking of individual and team hours.

Work Logs provide a detailed view of submitted entries, offering key information such as the date, client name, task description, hours worked, and the validation status of each entry. Users can easily filter these logs by status—validated or pending validation—or by specific date ranges to quickly locate the information they need. This feature simplifies record-keeping and enhances the ability to review and manage time logs effectively.

For those needing to make manual adjustments or add additional entries, the Work Logs tool allows for easy input of hours and related details. This functionality is particularly useful for logging missed timers, correcting errors, or recording additional tasks performed outside the regular workflow.

The platform also supports data export, enabling users to download and share work log details for reporting or analysis. This feature is invaluable for generating summaries of work hours, preparing invoices, or presenting data to clients and stakeholders.

With these capabilities, the Work Logs tool promotes accurate, transparent, and streamlined time management for both individual users and teams.

Benefits of Manual Work Log Entries

Manual work log entries offer significant advantages for maintaining accurate and flexible time tracking. They allow users to record all work hours comprehensively, including tasks that may not be captured using timers. This ensures that every effort, whether directly tied to a project or encompassing administrative activities, is documented and accounted for.

Adding detailed descriptions to manual entries provides valuable context for each task, enhancing the overall understanding of project progress. These descriptions contribute to a richer project overview by outlining specific activities, challenges, or milestones associated with the work. This level of detail supports better communication among team members and helps administrators or clients evaluate the work more effectively.

Manual entries also provide the flexibility to track work that doesn't align with traditional timer usage, such as impromptu meetings, brainstorming sessions, or time spent on internal processes. This adaptability ensures that all aspects of productivity are accurately represented, promoting transparency and completeness in time management practices.
