Bizman 2.27.0 - Release Notes

This release focuses on improving reliability, clarity, and usability across the platform. It introduces more granular notification controls, cleaner and more usable export data, and refinements to client setup, security, and interface consistency. Alongside these enhancements, we have addressed several billing, timer, and navigation issues, and applied targeted hotfixes for the AI feature.

 

New Features & Enhancements

Notification System 

 
  • System Alerts Preference: Added a new category in Notification Preferences called "System Alerts." 
    Users can now toggle this to receive updates on important system events (Export/Import status, permissions changes, and new client assignments). 

  • PM Assignment Alert: Implemented logic to trigger notifications to Project Managers when a new client is assigned to them. 

Data & Exports 

  • Standardized Time Formats: Exported files now present time data in Numerical/Decimal format (e.g., 0.25 or 00:15:00) instead of text format (e.g., "15 minutes"). This allows for immediate calculation and analysis in spreadsheets. 

    Affected Reports: Active Timers, Work Logs, Attendance, Validated Hours, and Attendance List. 

Client Management

  • Dynamic Location Selection: Updated the "Add Client" form flow. The Country field is now selected first, which dynamically enables and populates the State dropdown (e.g., selecting "United States" prepopulates US State abbreviations). 

Security & UI/UX 

 
  • 2FA OTP Expiration: Extended the validity window for Email OTP (One-Time Password) codes to 5 minutes to prevent premature expiration during login. 

  • Duplicate Timer Warning: Changed the "Duplicate Timer" alert color from Green to Yellow to correctly signal a warning state rather than a success action. 

  • Top Bar Alignment: Corrected the alignment of the application's top bar to ensure it remains centered across all viewport sizes.  
 

Bug Fixes

Timers & Billing 

 
  • Billable Field Auto-Selection: Fixed an issue where the "Billable" checkbox remained unchecked if a Task Type was selected before the Client data fully loaded. The system now waits for Client selection before loading Task Types to ensure correct billing status. 

  • Bank of Hours Validation: Fixed calculation logic when approving timers against a limited Bank of Hours. The "Insufficient Hours" alert now correctly triggers and displays matching values when a log exceeds the remaining balance. 

System Navigation 

  • Menu Access: Resolved a 404 error and visibility issue for the "Edited Validated" menu, restoring its appearance in the sidebar and direct page access.

Hotfixes 

AI Dashboard

  •  AI Masking Updates: Applied fixes to the AI "Next Step" logic to mask Employee and Client names in query results. 

    Note: We are continuing to monitor masking behavior in complex "follow-up" questions.
