Using Task Followers for Enhanced Collaboration
Unleash the power of teamwork! This guide shows you how to add task followers & leverage their power for better communication & task success.
Collaboration plays a pivotal role in achieving goals efficiently and effectively. Bizman’s task management tool is designed to enhance teamwork by streamlining the delegation and monitoring of tasks. With features that allow you to assign tasks to specific team members and add followers to each task, this tool ensures that all stakeholders stay informed about progress, updates, and deadlines.
What are Task Followers?
Task followers are team members who, while not directly responsible for completing a task, play an essential role in staying informed and contributing to its success. Their involvement ensures that relevant individuals remain aware of the task’s progress and can offer input when necessary. Assigning team members as task followers helps create a more transparent and collaborative work environment.
Followers receive notifications regarding significant task updates, such as its creation, status changes, or comments added by other team members.
This constant flow of information keeps everyone aligned and minimizes the risk of miscommunication. Although they are not directly executing the task, followers can share comments or suggestions, bringing their expertise to the table and providing valuable insights that can improve the task's quality and outcome.
Including team members as task followers also promotes accountability. Staying connected to the task’s progress motivates followers to remain engaged and prepared to contribute resources or assistance when required. This approach enhances the success of individual tasks, strengthens team collaboration and ensures a more effective execution of projects.
How to Add Followers in Bizman
The Followers feature in Bizman is designed to enhance team collaboration and transparency by keeping relevant individuals informed about task progress. This feature ensures that all involved parties remain aligned, facilitating better communication and decision-making throughout the task or project lifecycle.
Adding task followers in Bizman is relatively straightforward. To add followers while creating or editing a task, navigate to the "Select Follower" section. Begin typing the name of a team member, and a dropdown list will appear with matching names. Select the desired team member from the list to add them as a follower. Multiple followers can be added to a task, enabling comprehensive oversight and input from various stakeholders.
Alternatively, you can mention a team member within the task description or comment by typing "@" followed by their name. This action will automatically add the mentioned individual as a follower to the task, ensuring they receive updates and stay informed about its progress without requiring manual addition.
The task creator and assignees are not included in the task follower options by default. This is because they are already integral to the task, receiving automatic notifications for any updates and possessing the ability to edit the task directly. Adding them as followers is unnecessary, as their roles inherently involve active participation and oversight.
Effectively managing task followers is a powerful strategy for fostering a more collaborative work environment. Ensuring that the right individuals are kept informed and engaged promotes transparency and teamwork. This approach not only streamlines communication but also enhances the overall likelihood of successful task completion, as it encourages input, accountability, and alignment among team members.
